About

Eric Hsu Taipei Taiwan 35mm 120mm film street travel documentary editorial commercial photographer

I am a Taiwan-based photographer, previously based in New York City, where I first began to explore the streets with my camera. My work is rooted in a fascination with everyday life and the intersections of people and place that might otherwise go unnoticed.

I believe photography is the only medium that can hold a moment in time. No scene ever repeats itself in quite the same way: light shifts, people move, and the rhythm of a place is always in flux. Now mainly through film, both 35mm and 120mm, I try to preserve these fleeting intersections of chance and presence.

My photographs were commissioned by NYC Tourism, New York City’s official destination marketing organization, for its global campaign True York City. The campaign featured worldwide advertising and promotion to showcase the unique culture created by the city’s 8.5 million residents across the five boroughs. My work has also been exhibited at Photoville in Brooklyn and in zines and shows with the NYC Street Photography Collective.

Today, I continue to pursue both personal and commissioned projects, with prints available and an openness to commercial and editorial collaborations.
